Corrina Martin’s journey as a CASA advocate began with a simple conversation, but her impact has been anything but small. Living in Billings for over 20 years, Corrina has found fulfillment in her work and hobbies—reading, knitting, spending time in the yard, exploring historical sites, and sharing moments with her family, friends, and pets. Yet, it was her desire to give back to her community and make a difference in the lives of children that led her to the CASA program.

Corrina’s decision to become a CASA was inspired by a friend and former CPS worker, who saw the qualities in her that would make her a perfect advocate for children in need. “Naz convinced me to look into becoming a CASA because I had all the requirements—a heart, a voice, and the ability to adult,” she shares. In 2019, she took the leap into volunteerism with CASA, and since then, she has been committed to advocating for children in the foster care system.

She is currently working with a young child who is only 8 months old and has witnessed remarkable growth. “It’s been incredible to watch him grow and develop his personality,” Corrina reflects. “His little smile comes out all the time now because he realizes you are there to give him all your attention.” With a genuine love for the children she serves, Corrina makes it a point to ensure her CASA kids feel celebrated every time they’re together, hoping to provide them with positive memories in a challenging time of their lives.

The most gratifying part of her CASA experience? “Knowing each of my kiddos carries a little piece of my heart with them as they go through this world.” For Corrina, it’s the emotional connection with the children that has made her work so fulfilling, even though she acknowledges it is also one of the saddest and most humbling experiences she has had.

Her advice to new or potential CASA volunteers is simple but powerful: “Be honest with yourself. Volunteer because of what you can give of yourself to the children, not what you think you will receive.” This selfless approach has been central to her role as an advocate, and her unwavering dedication  continues to leave a lasting impact on the children she works with..

Corrina’s story exemplifies the profound difference one person can make in the life of a child. Through her compassion, dedication, and heart for service, she continues to inspire others to join the CASA community and be the voice that many children in foster care need.
