Despite coming from very different places, (Daysi is from Peru and Matt from Lewistown, MT), they are not only dedicated mental health professionals but also serve in the unique role of being volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates as a couple. With three children and a passion for outdoor activities like rock climbing, camping, and biking, they embody an active lifestyle.

Their commitment extends beyond their private practice as therapists. Becoming CASAs (Court Appointed Special Advocates) allowed them to provide crucial support and advocacy to foster children in their community. In their second year as CASAs, they have witnessed firsthand the struggles children in the community face.

Working as a CASA team has enabled Daysi and Matt to bring unique and powerful dynamic to their advocacy efforts. By sharing the day-to-day responsibilities of a CASA, they effectively manage their case while leveraging their combined perspectives and skills. Daysi and Matt are currently working with two remarkable girls who exemplify resilience despite significant hardships. Both girls possess exceptional musical talents — one is a member of the honors choir and the other excels in the honor band. Despite their different personalities — one outgoing and the other more reserved — both girls maintain a positive outlook on their healing journey and their future.

Daysi and Matt’s dedication to their roles as CASAs not only highlights their professional skills but also their compassion and commitment to improving the lives of others. Their efforts in supporting these girls go beyond their professional obligations, demonstrating a deep personal investment in the well-being and future success of the children they serve.

Thank you, Daysi and Matt, for your unwavering commitment to CASA and for making a significant impact in your community through your advocacy, support, and genuine care for foster children.
