CASA Volunteers Step Up to be Next to Foster Child’s Side in Court

In 2015, 450 Yellowstone County kids were placed in foster care. That’s more than double the number in 2014.

To help with the process, 16 new volunteers stepped up and are now CASA volunteers.

The goal of a CASA volunteer is to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in court and other settings.

Yellowstone County District Court Judge Russell Fagg confirmed the volunteers in a ceremony on Wednesday.

Becoming a CASA volunteer is an investment of time, energy and heart.

On average, each Casa volunteer helps three children.
