Tom Brewer, CASA’s Board Chair, hails from a small town outside of Boston, where he developed a deep love for history, the beaches, and the thrill of deep-sea fishing. A lifelong fan of the Celtics and Red Sox, Tom always appreciated the simpler joys of life, including working with his hands in woodworking and exploring computer technology. Tom is kept busy and active with his wife, 2 adult daughters and their families, along with his grandchildren. A passionate reader, he retired 6 years ago with a desire for meaningful volunteer work, which led him to CASA after spotting a billboard in 2019.

Starting as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), Tom quickly grew fond of the rewarding work of advocating for children in foster care. His journey took him from volunteer as a CASA to Peer Coordinator, where he helped guide other volunteers in making a difference. Tom’s work was fulfilling, especially when reunification or a positive outcome for the children was achieved, knowing his efforts played a part in changing lives. One case in particular stays with him: a young girl he worked with for over four years. To this day, whenever they cross paths, she runs up to him and gives him a hug—a reminder of the lasting impact he’s had.

In 2024, Tom joined the CASA’s Board, where he now helps shape the future of the organization, ensuring it continues to serve the children of Yellowstone County. His story is proof that one person can make a monumental difference in the lives of others. Tom’s volunteering is a legacy of service that will be felt for years to come. We are incredibly grateful for his contributions and the heart he brings to CASA.
