Meet Laura Forcella, one of our newest members on the CASA Board of Directors! Originally from Oklahoma, Laura and her family moved to Billings about 6 years ago after multiple relocations due to her husband serving in the US Marine Corps. Laura is a developmental and behavioral pediatric nurse practitioner at St. V’s Pediatric Specialty Clinic. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three boys, as well as hiking, cooking, and trying out new workouts. As an all-around sports mom, she understands the importance of community and support.

Laura values the CASA mission, recognizing the critical role of providing children in difficult situations with at least one trusted adult in their lives. She emphasizes that CASA volunteers, or Court Appointed Special Advocates, prioritize child safety while supporting families during vulnerable times.

Her advice to new advocates or those considering joining the board is to ask the hard questions and be honest with themselves about their commitment. Volunteering with CASA isn’t for everyone, but for those who have a passion for helping children and families in crisis, it’s an incredible organization to get involved with. Laura’s favorite quote at work is, “If you can change the beginning, you can change the story,” and she firmly believes that CASA advocates play a vital role in changing children’s stories for the better.

Thank you, Laura, for your dedication to fostering children in our community and for your valuable contributions to the CASA board!
